And yes, it's true that I said that if there were a Kama Sutra Yoga P.E. class offered, I'd do it.

So guess who else is a froshie here? David Strathairn's son. If you don't understand why I'm so excited about that, send me an email and I'll explain.

Adding settlements in the West Bank is stupid. It shows a lack of sincerity regarding the pullout in Gaza, so you're getting two negatives and no positives. What is Sharon thinking?
Anyway, on a less international note, I am definitely in the right place here.
Okay, one last thing since I haven't posted in a while. Read this article if you want to know why the press' coverage of disability can be so frustrating. The author, a new hearing aid user, makes several factual errors, has a "poor-me" attitude the whole way through, and doesn't do squat to discuss how empowering aids can be, or how unobtrusive and inconspicuous they have become in the last few years! Yeesh.

Note to self: don't wear all black on the day you're in the woodshop sanding the heck out of balsa wood.

So it wasn't Google - I should've known it would turn out to be Comcast's DNS servers again ... anyway, here's a bit of advice. Learn how to put in DNS servers (at least fallback ones) by IP, rather than getting 'em via DHCP. Linux and OS X make this really simple; Windows is a bit harder, but still pretty easy. The IP addresses that I've found are really easy to remember: 4.2.2.1 through 4.2.2.6.

Mental viruses ... I was on /., reading the story about how the Milky Way isn't a a spiral (okay, I didn't RTFA - but you didn't either!) and I came across the following thread (paraphrased):
-Of course. I always knew the Milky Way was made of nougat!
-Dangit, you just reminded me that I don't know what nougat is. In this day of Google and Wikipedia, that won't last long.
Guess what I did?

Bummer. Got all excited about the fact that my laptop has a DVD burner, so I'd only need one disk for Fedora and one for Suse, rather than 4-5 each. Totally forgot that the computer I'm installing all this on has 2 CD burners but no DVD drive!
Meh, whatever. It'll be nice to have my server back up.

I just realized that I've been surfing with images turned off for the past day or two, and barely noticed it. That's pretty neat, that you can make a page that looks that nice with just CSS. Or maybe I'm easily amused.

I don't know which is worse, not having wireless, or having it drop packets all over the place so you have to hit refresh half a dozen times to get the page to load. $70/month for 3 megabits/s wherever you get a cell signal is starting to sound almost tempting ...
Hmm - maybe that 802.11b card from Dell I have at home would do the trick. But the Airport Extreme *should* be forceable into b-only mode. There's no excuse for *not* having that feature!
Anyway ... Inkscape is really a fun program. 'S a good complement to POVRay, too.
